School Events

Here is where I will show you all the things that happen at school.

Remembrance Day

One the 11th of November it is Remembrance Day. On Remembrance Day we remember all of those who have fort and died for us in World War 1. World War 1 lasted for 4 years, from 1914-1918. It was called the Great War because almost every country was in the war. Alot of people where hurt or killed in the fighting that took place in Europe. In the spring time red Poppies grew on the Battlefields and around the soldiers graves. Now in remembrance of those soldiers we sell poppies. On the 11th month at 11:ooam we have a minutes silence to remember those who died.

Talent Show

On the 13th of November it was the school Talent Show. Lots of people did great acts such as Magic Tricks, Songs and heaps of other amazing things. The Talent Show went all afternoon and I had HEAPS of fun!!! My friends Katie, Kayla, Hallie and Taz did a play called The News At Five. It was really funny and they did really well.
The prizes were books and certificates. I would hate to be the judge because all of the dances and jokes were so good. I really enjoyed the Talent Show.

Melbourne Cup Day

On the 3rd of November it was the Melbourne Cup. On the Melbourne Cup people dress up and the best part are the horse races. A horse called Shocking Won!!! At school we chose a horse out of a container then we made hats and ties and coloured in the jockeys silks of the colour of our jockey. I don't know what my horse came but all of the horses did really well. I enjoyed watching the Melbourne Cup race.

Assembly, Term 4

This term my class did an assembly about poverty. We did it about poverty to show the school how poverty is effecting others in this world. We sung a song that was really fun and made up actions for it. I think poverty is a terrible thing. From doing this assembly I found out that a child dies every 3 seconds. We asked for everyone to wear to wear white that Friday and sing a song on the oval to show our support.

Safety House

In year 6 there are some girls who are Safety House Ambassadors for each class. For my class the Safety House Ambassadors are Britteny and Miyoko. For our Safety House lessons we play games like Don't break the ice. To play that Britteny and Miyoko would say some words like "Safety" then each person in the circle would say a letter then at the end of the word you would say Don't break the ice. It is a really fun game to play and it helps you to learn. If there is a stranger around our school they will come to our class and tell us what they look like and to be careful if you are walking home from school. There are Safety Houses around and if you are in trouble or you feel unsafe you can go to one.

4/5 Camp

On the 29th of October the 4/5s went on camp with the teachers and some parents that volunteered to help us on camp. It was fun because we got to go there in a bus. We went on camp for 1 night and 2 days.

The camp we went to was called Camp Goodenough in New South Whales.

At camp there was a dinning room and lots of yummy food like burgers, hot dogs, bread with lots of spreads and fruit. After Our meals there was a group who cleaned up, before meas there was a group who set the tables and get the drinks.

There were 2 girl cabins and 3 boy cabins. I was in cabin 2 and we talked all night!!!

The activities we did was the Flying Fox and inside the hall we played lots of fun initiative games so we could encourage our team. This was for teamwork. The night we got there we did a Talent show,I did an act with my friends!!!and we did a Trivia night in the hall. Some of the questions where easy and some where hard. I really enjoyed the Flying Fox because we got to wear a harness then we went down on a slope and landed with a big bang at the bottom!!!

After Our meals we had to wash up our own dishes in a tub of warm water and soap. To do that we had to bring our own Tea-towel!!!

I really enjoyed going on camp and it was very fun. and helped to make new friends.

COPS AND KILTS

ON MONDAY 12th OCTOBER WE HAD COPS AND KILTS COME TO OUR SCHOOL.

COPS AND KILTS ARE POLICE THAT CAN PLAY INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS............. BAGPIPES, DIDGERIDOO AND OTHER THINGS. THEY PLAYED LOTS OF SONGS FOR US LIKE BOB THE BUILDER. THEY WERE VERY TALENTED AND I REALLY ENJOYED THERE PERFORMANCE.

Fathers Day

For fathers day I made a wordle about my dad and what he likes and what he is. I also made a super hero dad. I made a super hero dad on the hero factory website. I made my dad like this because he is strong and tall and great. I love my dad and when I grow up I want to be just like him.

Book Week

On Wednesday 26th August our school had a Book Week. The theme was Book safari. You could dress up as a jungle animal or your favorite book character. There were lots of jungle animals like Leopards, Lions and even a dinosaur. I dresses up as Judy Moody from the book, Judy Moody Goes to College. At the start of the day we had a parade to see every ones favorite characters. Everyone looked great. I had lots of fun.

THE ART SHOW

ON SATURDAY IS OUR SCHOOL ART SHOW.

THE CHILDREN THAT ENTERED THERE ART WORK DID THE THEME LIVING BY THE BAY. EACH STUDENT DID A REALLY GOOD JOB.

THE WINNERS WON A VOUCHER FOR $40 OR LESS AND THE RUNNERS UP GOT A STATIONARY PACK WITH A PEN SOME PENCIL A NOTE BOOK AND A SHARPENER.

THE WINNERS WHERE MARA FOR ENTERING A GREAT PHOTO, ERIN FOR PUTTING HER PICTURE IN A FRAME AND FLYNN FOR DOING A GREAT PAINTING ON A CANVAS.

THE NED SHOW

YESTERDAY WE WENT TO THE NED SHOW.



THERE WAS A MAN CALLED JEFF THERE. WE WENT TO THE NED SHOW TO SEE HIM DO SOME YO YO TRICKS.



THE YO YO TRICKS HE SHOWED US WERE REALLY COOL BECAUSE HE TOLD STORIES WITH THEM AND MADE SHAPES OUT OF THE YO YO STRING.



I THINK THAT WOULD BE A REALLY COOL JOB TO HAVE AND I ENJOYED THE NED SHOW.

African Drummers

On the 17 of July some African drummers came to our school.

They were dresses up in lots of colourful cloths and they danced for us. The lady that was there showed us how the women in Africa carried their babies what they do is get a cloth and rap it around their waist then they put there baby on top of there back and pull the cloth over there back and do it up. They were very funny and they made lots of noise. I think it was funny because they did all these dances.

Drama

Every Thursday 4/5R does DRAMA.

I like Drama because you get to act(silly) and take your shoes off.

When we go to drama we all take our shoes off then go and listen to a book.

The book is TASHI and i like TASHI books.

After we listen to the book we hop into groups of 5-6 people.

We have to act out the book and that is fun.

W.W.W

EVERY WEDNESDAY WE HAVE A DAY CALLED WALKING WHALING WEDNESDAY. IT'S REALLY FUN BECAUSE WE CAN WALK,WHEEL OR DRIVE TO SCHOOL. IF YOU GET 20 STICKERS ON YOUR STICKER CHART YOU GET A PRIZE. WE CALL IT W.W.W. IT'S GREAT FUN AND KEEPS YOU HEALTHY.

PYJAMA DAY

TODAY OUR SCHOOL HAD A PYJAMA DAY. SO WE HAD TO BRING ALONG SOME SOUP OR SOME TEA BAGS TO GIVE TO SAINT VINCENT DEPAUL. IT WAS SUCH FUN DRESSING UP IN PYJAMAS TO COME TO SCHOOL IN. IT WAS A GREAT DAY.

4/5RS ASSEMBLY

TODAY 4/5R DID THEIR ASSEMBLY. I HAD A LONG PART TO SAY BECAUSE I WAS A NEWS REPORTER. I THINK IT WAS REALLY FUN. WE SUNG A SONG CALLED THE 3RS, THAT WAS A REALLY FUN SONG TO SING. THIS ASSEMBLY WAS ABOUT RECYCLING AND REUSING THINGS SUCH AS, ZIP LOCK BAGS AND PLASTIC BAGS. BECAUSE I WAS A NEWS REPORTER I HAD TO PRETEND I WAS INTERVIEWING PEOPLE AND THEY HAD TO TELL ME WHY THEY HAVE TO RECYCLE AND THINGS TO RECYCLE. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS ASSEMBLY.

BIKE-ED

TODAY IN BIKE-ED WE LEARNT SOME NEW ROAD RULES AND HOW TO DO HAND SIGNALS BUT WHAT ARE FOCUSING ON THIS WEEK IS ROUNDABOUTS. I FIND THEM A BIT TRICKY BUT I AM GETTING BETTER AT IT. I THINK BIKE-ED IS LOTS OF FUN AND IT TEACHES YOU HOW TO RIDE YOUR BIKE AND LEARN ROAD RULES.

SPORTS EXPO

ON THE 28th OF MAY ALL OF THE GRADE FOURS WENT TO THE SPORTS EXPO AT THE RUGBY LEAGUES CLUB. IT WAS GREAT FUN AND EACH GROUP TRIED FIVE SPORTS. THE SPORTS I TRIED WERE NETBALL,HOCKY,SOCCOR,RUGBY LEAGUE AND TOUCH FOOTY. THEY WERE ALL GREAT FUN AND GREAT EXCRSIZE FOR EVERYONE.

DANCE CART CONCERT

At school all of the classes showed the dance that they have been practicing for Dance Cart.All of the classes did a great job and the prep and year 1 classes did great to keep time with the music.I think this is a great way to do exercise.
