2 Minute Challenge

In class we do a 2 minute challenge.
A 2 minute challenge is when you get a sheet of times tables and Mrs R will time us for 2 minutes and we will try to fill out as many times tables as we can.

I think it is very fun and a great way to practice your times tables.

Clarice Bean

Today I read Clarice Bean Spells Trouble by Lauren Child. My favorite character is Clarice because she is smart and funny. My favorite part of the book so far is when Clarice said my friend is called Karl Wrenbury because then people think she is just as bad even if she tries to be good. Karl Wrenbury is the naughtiest kid in the school because he has a zingy thing inside him as Clarice puts it.

I think this is a great book to read.

I rate it 10/10.

Book Week

On Wednesday 26th August our school had a Book Week. The theme was Book safari. You could dress up as a jungle animal or your favorite book character. There were lots of jungle animals like Leopards, Lions and even a dinosaur. I dresses up as Judy Moody from the book, Judy Moody Goes to College. At the start of the day we had a parade to see every ones favorite characters. Everyone looked great. I had lots of fun.

The Bulge Around The Moon

For inquiry this term we are learning about the moon and tides.

To have high tide land has to match up with a bulge and that causes high tide, To have low tide land has to match up with a thin part of the bulge and that causes low tide.

I think the moon and the tides are very interesting.

Tide And Moon

In class this term we are learning about the moon and tide and how the moon affects the tides.

We have been put into groups and some groups are drawing the moon each night and some are recording the tides each night. I am recording the tides because I think it is interesting how the moon pulls the tides in and out.

The Suitcase Kid

I am reading The Suitcase Kid, by Jacqueline Wilson.

So far I am on chapter 4 it is called C is for Cottage. It is a great book and I cant put it down.

Dear Jacqueline Wilson I am reading The Suitcase Kid, it is really good but sad because Andy's parents are separated. I have read lots of your books and my favorite is Candyfloss. Keep writing. From Selina.

I recommend this book for people who want a good story to read.

My Jobs

Family Maths Challenge

For this weeks family maths challenge, my class had to follow directions to help Disney get the letters in the right pigeonholes.

This is the question. Walt Disney needs some help labeling his cast and crews pigeonholes. His secretary has given him directions.

I figured it out by following the directions it gave me. For Example: Goofy-2nd column 4th row.

I think it made it easy by saying the column and the row they were each in.

A DOG'S LIFE

I AM READING A DOG'S LIFE. SO FAR IT IS SO GOOD BECAUSE IT IS A TRUE STORY ABOUT A STRAY DOG. IT IS REALLY SAD BECAUSE A DOG CALLED SQUIRRELS BROTHER GOT SEPARATED AND HER MOTHER LEFT THEM. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A DOG LIKE SQUIRREL OR HER BROTHER BONE. MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS ARE SQUIRREL AND BONE BECAUSE THEY ARE SWEET AND KIND LOVING DOGS.

FAMILY MATHS CHALLENGE

THIS IS THE QUESTION TO THIS WEEKS FAMILY MATHS CHALLENGE.

THIS STAIRWAY IS MADE OF CUBES. HOW MANY CUBES WOULD BE NEEDED TO MAKE THE STEPS 9 STEPS HIGH?

I FIGURED IT OUT BY DRAWING THE PICTURE OF THE STEPS THEN ADDED ONE STEP MORE TILL I GOT TO NINE STEPS THEN I ADDED UP 6 +29=45 AND THAT IS HOW I GOT THE ANSWER.

TODAY IS SAINT JOHN VIANNEY'S FEAST DAY.
ST JOHN VIANNEY WAS BORN IN FRANCE 1786 AND DIED ON THE 4TH AUGUST 1859. HE WORKED ON HIS FARTHER'S FARM AS A SHEPARD. HE HAD A DREAM TO BECOME A PRIEST AND IT TOOK HIM 3 ATTEMPTS TILL HE BECAME ONE. HE WAS THE PARISH PRIEST OF ARS. HE WAS BULLIED BY OTHERS BECAUSE HE LOVED GOD SO MUCH. HE WAS CANONIZED AND BECAME A SAINT BY A POPE IN 1925. SAINT JOHN VIANNEY DIED 150 YEARS AGO FROM TODAY.

I am reading Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days.



It is really good so far because I can see the picture in my head and it has great expressions in the writing. My favorite character is Judy because she is smart and creative.



Judy Moody is a series and I have read all of the books except for this book and another.

I recommend this book for people that want an easy read and a fun book to read.
